As the pace of global economic integration increases, the social contract that served nation states well for much of the 20th century is in crisis. Struggling to remain competitive in a fast changing global marketplace, many sovereign governments now find themselves without the financial or human capital they need to meet existing responsibilities or provide leadership for the future.

We believe we now need bold and transformative thinking on how to move to a collaborative governance model where government, business and civil society play new roles and work together in new ways to share responsibility for social and economic progress.  We believe that the role and resources of the private sector are particularly critical to this task, and our focus is on how we most effectively expand the role and contribution of business leadership to this end.
