John McCormack

Associate Editor, Journal of Applied Corporate Finance

John McCormack has been Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance since 2010. Prior to that, he was on the Global Valuation, Accounting, and Taxation team in Morgan Stanley’s Equity Research Department and before that, he spent eight years at Stern Stewart & Company, where he headed the Energy & Resources corporate finance practice. Those responsibilities included work with oil companies, electric utilities and mining companies across North America, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Those experiences also formed the basis for several articles he contributed to the JACF.

John’s experience with the energy industries began as an energy and metals derivatives trader at O’Connor & Associates, a proprietary trading firm that was eventually acquired by UBS. He has taught several courses on financial risk management and corporate governance at NYU as an adjunct faculty member and has been a guest lecturer at several other U.S. business schools. He holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard.
